# Security & Governance Views

Views for security policy configuration, data dictionary metadata, and transformation settings.

## VW\_DATASOURCE\_ATTRIBUTE\_SECURITY

Security policy configuration for attributes (row-level security and masking policies).

**Contents:** Security policy settings, row-level security configuration (`include_column_in_row_access_policy`, `row_access_policy_column_order`), masking policy information (`column_masking_policy_name`, `column_masking_policy_parameters`), security metadata (updated by, updated at), view names for security policy application

**Note:** Requires Security Policy Integration product tier.

**Use cases:** Security policy review, compliance auditing, security configuration management, policy documentation

Example query:

{% code title="Example Query" %}

```sql
SELECT
    attribute_path,
    polymorphic_attribute_name,
    include_in_row_access_policy,
    column_masking_policy_name,
    view_name
FROM core.vw_datasource_attribute_security
WHERE datasource_id = 'your-datasource-id'
  AND include_in_row_access_policy = TRUE;
```

{% endcode %}

***

## VW\_DATASOURCE\_ATTRIBUTE\_DATA\_DICTIONARY

Data dictionary metadata for attributes including descriptions, synonyms, and context.

**Contents:** Attribute/version identification, comments/context (attribute, version, data source), data types, sample values, synonyms, update tracking

**Note:** Requires Data Dictionary Builder product tier.

**Use cases:** Data dictionary generation, documentation, AI-powered enhancement, metadata management

***

## VW\_DATASOURCE\_ATTRIBUTE\_TRANSFORMATION

Transformation configuration for attributes including expressions and semantic layer settings.

**Contents:** Transformation expressions (`raw_transformation_expression`, `semantic_layer_transformation_expression`), null value expressions (`raw_null_value_expression`), transformation comments, configuration metadata (updated by, updated at)

**Use cases:** Transformation review, configuration management, documentation, integration workflows

***

## VW\_DATASOURCE\_ATTRIBUTE\_GENAI

Gen AI semantic model configuration for Cortex Analyst integration.

**Contents:** W question categories, Gen AI semantic model expressions (`gen_ai_expression`), search configuration (`gen_ai_search_name`, `gen_ai_search_database_name`, `gen_ai_search_schema_name`, `gen_ai_search_column_name`), synonyms, comments, semantic model metadata

**Note:** Requires Semantic Model Generator product tier.

**Use cases:** Cortex Analyst integration, semantic model configuration, Gen AI query optimization

***

## VW\_DATASOURCE\_SCHEMA\_TRANSFORMATION

Schema consolidation and transformation configuration.

**Contents:** Schema consolidation expressions (`SCHEMA_REGULAR_EXPRESSION_SEARCH`, `SCHEMA_REGULAR_EXPRESSION_REPLACE`, `SCHEMA_INSERT_SQL_EXPRESSION`), transformation type, transformation name, string list type configuration (delimiter, key-value separator, wrapper, field widths)

**Use cases:** Schema consolidation review, transformation management, bulk updates via CSV integration

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.datapancake.com/core-concepts/views/security-and-governance-views.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
